Contracts Recently Awarded

David Lloyd Contractors are pleased to announce the following contract news:

United Utilities Operational Services Plc

In addition to the 4 year contract awarded in 2004 for the maintenance of approximately 550 sites across north and mid Wales, David Lloyd Contractors have also been awarded a 5 year contract for the maintenance of 530 sites around Cumbria. Maintenance work consists of grass and hedge cutting at the various different sites, including service reservoirs and sewage treatment sites. 


Sodexho


October 2005 saw the company being awarded the contract for the grounds maintenance of secondary school Ysgol John Bright in Llandudno, Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy in Llanrwst and Ysgol Aberconwy in Conwy, following their recent building and refurbishment project.


Work includes:

  • Grass Cutting, Hedge Cutting, Litter collection
  • Weeding, plant preparation, pesticide application
  • tree surgery, fencing and repairs
  • Maintenance and repairs of the sport equipment, pitch marking and maintenance, general repairs and the outdoor sports field construction.
  • 24 hour 'on-call' service to the schools during storms and floods
  • Gritting of icy areas and snow clearing to make sure the grounds are safe for pupils and teachers.


Welsh Highland Railway (Porthmadog) Ltd


David Lloyd Contractors are very pleased to be involved with the Welsh Highland Railway, which has seen the construction of a new railway line from Caernarfon to Porthmadog using authentic, vintage trains. Tree surgery and planting of various new plants along the railway line has been completed during the winter months of 2005, with maintenance of the newly planted areas planned for the coming months.


Anglesey County Borough Council - Highways Department


In May 2005, David Lloyd Contractors were awarded the 1-metre swathe grass verge cutting of all roads on the Isle of Anglesey. The company is pleased to be holding the 5 year contract for a second term and estimates to cut approximately 2500km per cycle, using its own 6 John Deere 6220 tractors and McConnell flail arms.
